Mid-century modern design is architectural, furniture, graphic and interior style of the mid-19th century 1933-1965. Geometric shapes, natural colors and straight lines are all part of mid-century modern design. Bathroom furniture is a great place to start when designing your bathroom. Create a focal point by placing a modern chair in the corner or even a small sofa. Look for patterns and colors that fit into those categories when looking for what type of faucet, mirror and fixtures you are choosing to place in your modern bathroom.
Choosing lighting is a crucial part of modern design style especially in the bathroom. There are plenty of lighting choices available to you. Modern design is all about lines and geometric shapes, so keep that in mind when shopping for light fixtures, windows, and placement of lighting. However, make sure to remember that the quality of the light is further more important than the actual light fixture. Skylights are great idea for modern bathrooms, because they add more natural light and interest to your bathroom.
One of the easiest ways to create a modern look in your bathroom is by largely sticking to a monochromatic color scheme. This classic combo looks sleek and sophisticated, and never goes out of style. You don’t have to incorporate every shade of the monochromatic rainbow. It’s possible to focus on creating an ultra-clean white space or to experiment with various hues of gray. Just mix up the space with a few different prints and patterns to keep the room from seeming too one-note.
Is it one that will be used by parents, young children and grandparents alike? More of us live in these multi-generational households nowadays and there’s great pleasure in the emotional closeness, bonding and companionship that come with that. Grandparents can play a key role, not just as carers for kids, but also as role models. But it can mean taking into account quite a range of needs.
