Dining tables and chairs absolutely need to be proportional with each other, as there's no use in having a low table and tall chairs! For a pared back, organic and very zen installation, Japanese designs can be looked to for inspiration, with tatami mats housing a low table and numerous floor-mounted seats. With back supports in place, comfort AND relaxation will be combined to perfection.
The small and smooth dining table, with simple chairs look like it can fit just anywhere creating a dining area even in no space. The small hanging lights look beautiful complementing the size of the table well.
Dark wall, with dark wood furniture illuminated with warm lighting does not make the space seem narrow, as one would imagine, rather it makes the whole area appear quite warm and cozy. The black chairs complement the black wall, and the bench is definitely the center of attraction of this open dining space.
For dining chairs that are built to last, there's no better material than oak. One of the strongest, prettiest and most accessible woods currently available, oak can be whittled by any master craftsman, into a fabulous set of dining chairs that will last a lifetime. Because oak is such a beautiful material, it can be turned to represent any design genre to an incredible standard. Contemporary, retro or traditional chairs will always look great in oak, not to mention bench seats.
