Pastels are basically a staple for French decor along with patterns and wood accented furniture. Rather than covering your walls with a toile or rose laden wallpaper, consider painting them pastel blue instead. Suddenly all the blues in the room will feel tied together and more styled than you ever thought it could be.
If your thing is a contemporary design, you should look for classic and modern pieces which never go out of style, as for instance Lucite tables and leather-made white Barcelona chairs. Learning how to decorate living room may require a bit of documentation, but room design ideas are always a useful experience.
It’s true – you’re not supposed to exaggerate with colors in small living rooms, but you can compensate the lack of excitement with well-combined patterns. The modern living room is colorful, but also simple when it comes to decoration and wall patterns.
Still, this doesn’t mean you have to push down walls, as the same feeling of openness can be achieved by rearranging furniture. For instance, you can scoot chairs together, or play with colors, patterns, and decorations to create a visual connection between different parts of the room. The room’s design in general is becoming more personal and wisely uses the space limitations. Remember, the heart of the house is the living room!
