I WOULD LIKE TO VOLUNTEER TO HELP OUT IN THE FAMILY TENT.
I CAN TAKE TICKETS,ECT....
HOWEVER....I AM DISABLED AND CAN NOT DO ANY HEAVY LIFTING OR ANYTHING THAT REQUIRES PSYSICAL AGILITY OR FITNESS...
I AM REQUIRED(BY DOCTOR) TO USE AN ELECTRIC WHEEL CHAIR...DUE TO MY ARTHORITIS.
I CAN NOT WALK LONG DISTANCES OR STAND FOR HOURS ON MY FEET.

HOWEVER, I AM NOT COMPLETLY CRIPPLED...YET...

I CAN STAND AND WALK SHORT DISTANCES.(LIKE TO A NEARBY RESTROOM 2 -3 FT AWAY)..WITH LIMITATIONS...DUE TO THE FACT THE JOINTS IN MY ANKLES WILL SWELL AND THEN I CAN NOT WALK AT ALL IF I OVER DO IT.

HOWEVER,
IF YOU CAN ACCOMADATE MY DISABILITIES,
MY BRAIN STILL WORKS JUST FINE...AND I ALSO AM A ENVIROMENTAL ACTIVIST...
AND WAS THE FORMER FOUNDER OF REV.BUTLER PARK PRESERVATION SOCIETY...

WHICH EFFORTS SAVED BUTLER PARK / 9TH ST PARK FROM BULLDOZERS IN SUMMER 2006.
MONROE COUNTY SCHOOL CORP WAS GOING TO PLOW DOWN BUTLER PARK, AND PUT THE NEW FAIRVIEW SCHOOL WHERE THE PARK WAS...BASICALLY DESTROYING IT.
HOWEVER, AFTER A SUCCESSFUL PETION DRIVE, AND COMMUNITY HELP AND SUPPORT, PLUS ECO CENTER AND NAACP INVOLVEMENT....
THE CITY AND SCHOOL WERE CONVINCED TO ALTER THEIR PARK DESTRUCTION PLANS.

IN THE END THE SCHOOL WAS ALSO SAVED IN THE PROCCESS...AS MANY CAME FORWARD TO SAY THAT KIDS AT RISK DESERVED A BETTER SCHOOL AND MORE PROGRAMS TO HELP THEM THAN THEY WERE PRESENTLY GETTING...

PLUS IF IT BE A NEW SCHOOL BUILDING,
IT MUST BE A "GREEN" BUILDING WHICH SHOULD REFLECT BLOOMINGTON'S DEVOTION TO SUSTAINABLE LIVING.

BY CREATING A NEW SCHOOL ON THE SAME LAND..THAT COMPLEMENTED THE ENVIROMENT AND THE CITY.

SO, NOW IN 2010 ALL THAT HAS HAPPENED..BECAUSE OF ONE GRASSROOTS EFFORT THAT LET THE CITY KNOW THAT FAIRVIEW SCHOOL AND BUTLER PARK WERE VERY LOVED HISTORIC PLACES,NOT TO BE DESTOYED , BUT TO REMAIN FOR THE GENERATIONS TO COME.

SO...IF YOU CAN FIND A PLACE FOR ME..I WOULD BE THRILLED TO HELP OUT.
